Support Friends of Jockey Hollow's Campaign for America 250!

Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary in 2026

Dear Friends and Supporters,

First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt best wishes to you and your family as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday season.

The Friends of Jockey Hollow’s mission is to spread the imperative message to the nation of the extraordinary role that Jockey Hollow and Morristown played to during the American Revolution. Our hope is that with the leadership of our community, we can illuminate this fact so that ultimately history books will include Jockey Hollow’s vital role alongside that of Valley Forge!

With this aim in mind, we have been planning and implementing major capital improvements for Jockey Hollow since our formation in 2021. Specifically, these plans total approximately $1.6 million. Due to key local and national support, we have already raised and reinvested $772,000 to projects that include a comprehensive signage program throughout the park, a new custom fence at the Wick Garden, horticultural assistance in the Wick Apple Orchard and upgrades to the 27 miles of trails. At the same time, the NPS has overseen extensive work to resurface the roads, preservation work at Wick House and rebuilding of the soldier’s huts. But much remains to be done after decades of deferred maintenance and flat budgets.

Campaign for America 250

The significant additional goals of this campaign focus on improving and deepening the visitor experience in preparation for 2026.

  1. To undertake renovations to 50-year-old NY Brigade Comfort Station which will provide modern amenities including ADA accessible features and other structural upgrades and
  2. To blaze the Pennsylvania Line Mutiny Trail which will not only record a very important lost chapter of history at Jockey Hollow, but it will be the 1st trail within Jockey Hollow in over 80 years!

1) Renovation of the New York Brigade Comfort Station: $475,000

2) Creation of the New Pennsylvania Line Mutiny Trail: $425,000
Our need: $900,000

With much gratitude,
Leslie Bensley, Executive Director
